So let’s get started and see how to marinate Fish to make a perfect, crispy outside and juicy inside Tandoori Fish in electric tandoor.
- Wash 750 Grams boneless and skinless Fish properly. Wash with Salt and Lemon to remove any unpleasant smell out of Fish. Take care while washing the Fish as Fish meat are very tender; so make sure you wash them very gently so that Fish pieces should not break or mess-up.
- Keep the washed Fish in a strainer for 20 minutes so that all the extra water is strained very well out of Fish. You can alternatively take a cotton cloth and tap dry the Fish pieces.
- Then take the washed Fish in a big bowl and add marinating spices.
- So add ½ Cup of Hung Curd (Dahi, Yogurt)
(To make hung curd, hang the Curd (Yogurt) in a thin cotton cloth for at least for 30 minutes so that all the water will strain out of Curd) - Add 1.5 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste. Try if you can use the homemade Ginger Garlic paste.
(To make Ginger garlic paste at home take 40% Ginger and 60% Garlic and grind them with little water to make a fine paste) - Add 1 Tsp Cumin Powder. To make Cumin powder at home simply roast cumin seeds in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes at low flame. When done, let it cool and then grind to make a fine powder.
- Add 1 Tsp Coriander Powder, ½ Tsp Red Chilli Powder and ½ Tsp Yellow Chilli Powder.
(Yellow Chilli Powder will give an amazing unique spicy taste to your Tandoori Fish in Electric Tandoor. But if Yellow Chilli Powder is not available, simply increase the quantity of Red Chilli Powder to 1 Tsp instead of ½ Tsp). - Add 2 Tsp dried Fenugreek Leaves (Kasuri Methi), 1 Tsp Salt (Namak), ½ Tsp Black Pepper Powder and ½ Tsp Garlic Powder (Optional). If garlic powder is not available, you can skip it.
- You can optionally add a small pinch of Red Food Color if you want to give a nice red color to your Tandoori Fish.
- Then gently and evenly rub all the spices on fish pieces with your hands. Rub gently so that fish pieces should not break.
