Step 1 – Marinate the Fish for Fish Fingers Fry Recipe
This is important to marinate the fish for 30 to 40 minutes along with some spices to get best of fried fish recipe. Follow these recipe instructions below to marinate the fish for this crisply fried fish recipe.
- Take 500 Grams of any boneless and skinless Fish and wash the Fish gently with lemon juice and salt. Remember, fish meat is very tender so do not press the fish pieces too hard so their meat should not be messed up.
- Cut the Fish into fingers like shape in length of 2 to 3 inches.
- Take the fish pieces in a big bowl and add marinating spices. So add ½ Tsp Black Pepper Powder (काली मिर्च पाउडर), ½ Tsp Salt (नमक), ½ Tsp Red Chilli Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर), ½ Tsp Turmeric Powder (हल्दी पाउडर), 1 Tsp Red Chilli Sauce, 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste (अदरक लहसुन पेस्ट) (Homemade) and 2 Tsp Lemon Juice (नींबू का रस).
- Gently mix and rub all the spices on fish pieces so that they should evenly coat over the fish pieces. Make sure to rub the spices on fish fingers gently so fish pieces should not break. Keep aside for marination for 30 to 40 minutes.

Step 2 – Prepare Coating Powder for Fish Fry
While our fish is being marinated, let’s prepare the dry coating powder for fish. This coating powder will be use to give fish fingers a dry powder coating of All Purpose Flour and spice mixture to make the more crispier. So follow these simple steps below to make the coating powder for our fish fingers.
- In a big bowl, take 4 Tsp All Purpose Flour (मैदा), ½ Tsp Black Pepper Powder (काली मिर्च पाउडर) ½ Tsp Salt (नमक), ¼ Tsp Mango Powder (अमचूर पाउडर) and (1 Tsp Oregano or 1 Tsp Carom Seeds (अजवाइन)).
- Then mix all these ingredients well and keep aside. This will be our coating powder for crispy fish fingers. Frying fish this way with a dry powder coating makes the fried fish crispier.

Step 3 – Finally See How to Make Fish Fingers Fry
So we have the fish marinated and we have the powder coating ready so let’s see how to fry the fish fingers so you have very crispy and restaurant style fried fish. Follow these simple recipe instructions to fry the crispy fish fingers.
- Take 1 raw Egg contents in a bowl and whisk it normally with the help of a fork. Keep it handy with you.
- Take 1 bowl of Breadcrumbs in a plate and keep it handy too.
- Pour the whisked Egg contents in plate or wide bowl so that the fish pieces can be dipped properly in it.
- Now to powder coat the fish fingers, take a fish finger and add to powder coating. Turn the Fish piece in coating powder so that the coating powder should make a light coating over the fish. Press little with your hands so powder coating should stick with fish pieces.
- Repeat this process with all fish pieces and keep all the powder coated fish in a plate.

- Then put this Egg coated fish finger in Breadcrumbs and turn to make the Breadcrumbs coating all around the fish pieces. Press with your hands little bit so that the breadcrumbs should stick well with fish pieces.
- Repeat this process with all remaining Fish and keep all the breadcrumb coated Fish Fingers in a plate.
- Now heat enough Oil in a non-stick frying pan at medium flame.
- When Oil is medium hot, gently add Fish Fingers and fry from one side for 4 to 5 minutes at medium flame.
- When fried from one side, flip the fish to fry from other side. Fry for 3 to 4 minutes from other side too.
- When you get nice brown color on fish fry, take them out on a tissue paper or kitchen towel to absorb the excess Oil.
- Your tasty, spicy and crispy fried fish fingers are ready, serve hot with your favorite Sauce or Chutney.
